Kasich, Harris & Husted Endorse Justice Stratton And Her Circuit Riders

Ashland, OH, August 20, 2008. Ohio Senate President Bill Harris and former Ohio Congressman John Kasich told us tonight that they both support Justice Evelyn L. Stratton for re-election to the Ohio Supreme Court.

Senator Harris said that "Evelyn Stratton is one of the finest people I have ever met. She is a great lady. We love her here in Ashland County. We need to see her re-elected!"

John Kasich said that he knows and supports Justice Stratton and 'grilled' us for more details about the 'incredible' Violet Moon Story, which he saw and was touched by on NBCTV-4 in Columbus. For a moment we thought that WE were on Fox-TV's The O'Reilly Factor, which John hosts when Bill O'Reilly is away.

As John left to drive home to see one of his twin eight-year-old daughters, who started the third grade today, he said, "I support what you (Circuit Riders For Stratton) are doing. Good Luck! Ride Safe!

Germantown, OH, August 23, 2008. The Speaker of the Ohio House of Representatives, Jon Husted, told us today that he supports the re-election of Justice Evelyn Stratton. "We need her and more judges like her who do not legislate from the bench," The Speaker said.

Speaker Husted was among a large group of Montgomery County Republicans welcoming Circuit Riders For Stratton to their 75th county today.

Ohio Chamber endorses Stratton, O'Connor for SUPCO

COLUMBUS, OH: The political action committee of the Ohio Chamber of Commerce (OCCPaC) announces the endorsements of incumbent Ohio Supreme Court Justices Evelyn L. Stratton and Maureen O'Connor.

"Recent national studies show that Ohio's legal climate has dramatically improved since the 1990s", said Andrew E. Doehrel, Ohio Chamber President and CEO. "We went from having an environment in which a majority of the Court would freely legislate from the bench to one that is predictable and fair. Keeping Justices Stratton and O'Connor on the Ohio Supreme Court is essential to our mission of improving Ohio's economy and attracting good jobs for Ohioans."

Doehrel lauded the tremendous experience and community commitment of Justice Evelyn Stratton, pointing specifically to her nine years of work as an attorney, service as a judge on the Franklin County Common Pleas Court and twelve years on the Ohio Supreme Court. "In Justice Stratton, we have a seasoned jurist with a strong commitment to the people of Ohio", he said.

Regarding the Chamber's endorsement of Justice Maureen O'Connor, Doehrel said "she has served Ohio extremely well during her first term on the Court, capitalizing on her experience as an attorney, judge, prosecuting attorney and Ohio's Lt. Governor. We are pleased to endorse her, once again, for Ohio's highest Court."

"These two justices bring balance and fairness to the Ohio Supreme Court. Their commitment to interpreting the law, not making new law from the bench has a positive impact on every aspect of our economy, from the cost of goods and services, to the availability of affordable health care, the quality of education and the cost of running a business. Circuit Riders For Stratton Attend 19 County & State Fairs

Smithfield, OH, August 14, 2008. The Jefferson County Fair here in Smithfield, OH marks the 19th Ohio Fair attended by Circuit Riders For Stratton, so far this summer.

We have celebrated in show arenas and exhibit barns with hundreds of Ohio families all across this great state. We have partied with thousands of local folks on midways and in grandstands, too.

Here is a list of the counties fairs that we have attended, so far:

• Putnam, Marion, Clinton, Madison, Lawrence, Harrison, Logan, Trumbull, Crawford, Franklin, Perry, Jackson, Shelby, Union, Richland, Holmes, Muskingum, Jefferson and the Ohio State Fair

We will continue to ride and to attend fairs and festivals right up to Election Day. We will update this report, too.

Meet the Circuit Riders For Stratton: John & Linda Harris from Richland County

John Harris is our Circuit Riders for Stratton pastor. John was raised in Lexington, OH and his wife Linda is from Vermont. Linda has been riding motorcycles for about 40 years and John for about 25 years. “We met in New Hampshire in 1999 and we were married in 2000, says John.

John was ordained in 2006. “I decided that there had to be a better way of life than what I was living. So I opened my Bible and accepted the Lord onto my life. From that day forward I have lived my life as He said to live it.”

“The two of us love to ride and spread God's word. We joined a motorcycle ministry and ride out into the highways and byways where the 1%ers are. When the occasion arises we witness to them.”

John is also a Chaplain with the United States Corps of Chaplains and the Richland County Coordinator for A.B.A.T.E. of Ohio.
