AND O'CONNOR FOR SUPREME COURT
Released: July 16, 2008
Boardman, OH- The Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) of Ohio announced their endorsements for statewide candidates during their annual State Conference in Boardman, OH. This year, the delegates of the FOP awarded their endorsement to both incumbent Supreme Court Justices Mameen O'Connor and Evelyn Stratton.
The FOP chose to endorse O'Connor due to her strong record of support for police as a Summit County Prosecutor, Lt. Governor, Director of Public Safety and her extensive judicial experience. "We endorsed O'Connor in 2002 and she has carried this record of support for police for the last 6 years on the Supreme Court" commented Nick DiMarco, President of the Ohio Fraternal Order of Police.
In the second judicial race, Stratton was endorsed given her own record of leadership on the bench and legal experience. "'Throughout her years, Justice Stratton has demonstrated she has what is takes to be a fair and impartial member of the Ohio Supreme Court" said DiMarco.
"I am highly honored to have the unanimous endorsement of the Ohio Fraternal Order of Police. I have such great respect for the very hard work and dedication of the police officers who serve our Ohio citizens so unselfishly and with such great courage" commented Justice Stratton.
The Fraternal Order of Police is the largest Police Organization in the State with over 26,000 full time professional law enforcement members.
